Aaliyah Dana Haaughton rose to prominence after the release of her debut album Age Ain't Nothing but an Number in 1994. Her album, which was launched when she was only 15 years old it went Gold. The collaboration was highly in the style of R. Kelly, and made her a star in the spotlight. In 1996 she worked with Jermaine Dupri as well as Timbaland to release her second album One In A Million which featured the hit number one single If Your Girl Only Knew. The second album of Aaliyah, One in a Million came out in the year 1996. It featured the top hit single"If Your Girl Only Knew. In 2000, she was on the screen in Romeo Must Die, a action/romance film starring Jet-Li. Joel Silver, a film producer who was at an awards show at the time she landed the role was able to spot her. Her birthplace was in Connecticut to a family of Indian descent. The stage name Mann originates from her husband's name Mankad. Aarti uses both Aarti Majumdar as well as Aarti Munn as professional names. Though she started her career in film and TV with a few minor roles her acting career gained speed in the late 2000s. Other notable works she has done include Leverage 2012, Suits 2013, and Grey's Anatomy 2017. The actress has been featured in a variety of commercials for Volvo's international automobile manufacturer. She continues her acting career with her home in Los Angeles, where she lives with her husband and daughter.
