In my journeys, you come across someone from another part of the globe, someone from New Zealand and you say 'I'm from Colorado and the first thing you hear is"Oh John Denver! Brown admitted. Take Me Home Country Roads was among Denver's top 10 solo achievement after having performed with small folk bands. It was written, co-written and produced by Bill Danoff. Danoff had originally written the tune by putting Johnny Cash's song in his head, however Denver was aware from the very first time he heard early versions that the song was going to be an instant hit. A few days after performing before a large crowd within Washington D.C., the musician recorded the track.
